My Sears shop vac is model 113.177690.  I got a tear in the hose, just a few inches from where you hold the hose with  you hand..........and that has the most cycles of bending stress.

I went to sears.com...........they show the hose part number, 830674...but replacement hose is no longer available.

Other new standard hoses do not have the right geometry on the ends.

I fixed mine by buying a 2" rubber coupling from Ace Hardware.  This coupling will not fit over the end of the hose, because the first few inches is a larger diamter than the hose itself.  I cut my hose where it was split, then I could slip the 2 hose ends into the coupling fine.  I think this repair will last a long time.
