Next I decided to make a Celtic wood pen. I chose to use a yellow spalted oak dyed blank for this pen.

The blank was yellow on the outside when I received it.  As I started to turn it, the blank started to look like regular oak with some yellow streaks. But after I finished it, it still looks pretty nice..........just not the same as the catalog pictures of the blank.

Closing Thoughts on This Project

This pen came out nice looking with the oak.  I might try a green plastic blank on a future pen to get some of the Irish green on the pen....
